Program

Description

Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM)

Veterans with diagnosis of a chronic mental illness

Requires a consult or contact the MHICM Program Coordinator at 317-988-0825

Intensive and supportive case management that coordinates primary medical and mental health care. They assist with medication management and crisis management. Access to vocational assessment and counseling. Exclusions: Veterans whose primary mental health concern is substance abuse, dementia or personality disorder, as well as, Veterans living outside the 30-mile radius of the Main Indy VA Medical Center. Frequent hospital admissions related to mental health, have a desire to improve their quality of life, and are willing to have weekly home visits at their place or residence.

Veterans can be enrolled in a variety of mental health services, including individual and group therapy for conditions like depression, anxiety, older adult clinic, PTSD clinical team, Mental Health Intensive Care management and more.

Mindful Yoga

Class teaches Veterans tools to help cope with symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, and/or PTSD. Participants will leave with a better understanding of mind-body connections and how to bring balance to both.

Primary Care Psychology

Monday-Friday

Receive this service from your Provider Aligned Care Team (PACT) team.

Primary Care Health Psychologists offer brief individual therapy and help with coping with chronic diseases, pain management, setting health goals with the Veteran.

Womens Group

 Focuses on current and past stressors, sorting out emotions, building personal power and self esteem.  Topics include safety, trust, relationship issues, ect.  Veterans connect with each other so they feel less alone.

 For individuals who have experienced a sexual assualt at some time in their lives whether during childhood, the military, or other adulthood.  Groups will include educational material focusing on identifying and coping with common struggles and includes a time for optional sharing.

Military Sexual Trauma
(MST)

The VA provides free, private counseling and treatment to male and female Veterans for problems related to MST.  You do not need to be service connected and may be able to receive this benefit even if you are not eligible for other VA care.
