What is the Veterans House?

A safe, comfortable and homelike environment for OEF/OIF Veterans and their families and other Veterans receiving care at the Medical Center.

The Richard L. Roudebush VAMC considers family support as a priority. As the polytrauma network site for Indiana Veterans, the Medical Center recognizes the need to support the families of a Veterans going through an extended medical process.  (The Medical Center serves Veterans from 61 Indiana counties, 31 counties in Illinois and 6 counties in Ohio).

A Home Away from Home

The Veterans House will include twenty-eight (28) fully furnished private guest rooms, with handicap accessible bathrooms. Common areas include a kitchen, laundry, dining room, living room, fitness room and a library.

Current status

The architect is finalizing the site plans (see representations above) and we are generating contracts.  Site preparation begins this year with an anticipated building completion about 12 months later.
