Pharmacy Residency Programs Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical CenterThe Roudebush VA provides both inpatient and outpatient care ranging from acute inpatient medical, surgical, psychiatric, neurological, and rehabilitation care in addition to primary and specialized outpatient services. The hospital has 73 med/surg ward beds (for a total of 140 inpatient beds) and sees nearly 500,000 outpatient visits per year. The Roudebush VA is affiliated with the Indiana University School of Medicine and the Indiana University School of Nursing, which allows for nearly 100 post-graduate physician residents at any given time. The medical center is located two miles from downtown Indianapolis, acts as Indiana's tertiary care facility, and has been serving Indiana veterans since 1932. With almost $12 million in research support, the facility also conducts extensive research and training programs in such areas as diabetes, alcoholism, AIDS, Alzheimer's disease, pulmonary diseases, cancer and other areas for veteran health.
