Billing and Insurance

Co-payments

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has established guidelines for veterans and their copayments.

Any co-payments due can be paid upon checking out of the medical center. Co-payments may be made at the Agent Cashier window, first floor, next to the Pharmacy (room C-1073).

Veterans who do not make their co-payments upon checking out will receive a bill at their address of record within 30 days after their stay or appointment.

You can also use a very handy system called the HRC (Health Revenue Center). Call toll-free, 866-279-3677.

Because copay rates may change annually, they are published separately. Current year rates can be obtained at: www.va.gov/healthbenefits/cost/copays.asp.

If you have any questions about your copay balance, please contact our Patient Accounts at (317) 988-2508.

Other Health Insurance

The Department of Veterans Affairs now bills private health insurance companies for care received by their enrollees. You should bring your insurance card with you for your appointment and present it during the check-in process. What's in it for me?

Medicaid/Medicare

The Department of Veterans Affairs does not bill Medicare or Medicaid at this time. You may, however, wish to review information for veterans about the new Medicare prescription drug benefits.
