Women Veterans Fair a Huge Success
Many of the women got some well-deserved pampering with healing touch, manicures, and massage stations.
Roudebush VA Medical Center held the first “Making a Difference for Women Veterans Fair" this past October 27. A considerable turnout of 83 women Veterans came through and gained knowledge about medical center services, health information, community services, health checks. Many of the women got some well-deserved pampering with healing touch, manicures, and massage stations. One woman Veteran commented on the evaluation of the event, “I came from three hours away. I tried to combine with my VA medical appointment so I could spend the night at Hoptel. Three days before this, my appointment was cancelled – so I lost my space at Hoptel. I so wanted to come anyway, I paid $100 for a hotel room. I’m so glad I did.” Comments like these came from at least most of the attendees, strongly saying "yes" to coming back next year. Our medical center plan to make next year's fair even bigger and better so more of our Veterans can get the information about the health care that VA is focusing on this rapidly growing Veteran population. |
